The top of the pass offers views of the entire valley.

Perhaps the best place from where to see the whole valley in its immensity (the deep valley), the viewpoint of Tornavacas is located just up the mountain pass that separates Extremadura from Castilla y León. It is located at 1274 meters al titude and is a must stop for those who travel between the Valley and the great central plateau. An ideal place to take a few minutes of rest and even take the opportunity to eat a sandwich.

A prepared place.

What was once a natural viewpoint has now been prepared to make it easier to stop. The balcony has been prepared with some benches and information panels. Two large pergolas with picnic areas for snacks and refreshments. A large parking lot (prepared for a large number of vehicles and even buses) and, if it is tourist season, we can find several stalls with crafts and local products.

The views are a spectacle, and on clear days you can see to the bottom of the Jerte Valley. You can distinguish the meandering of the Jerte River, which runs from beginning to end. The information panels will tell you everything you need to know about the landscape before your eyes.
