Open map Cabezabellosa (Cáceres), España

A spectacular place to watch the sunset.

Cabezabellosa is located between Valle del Ambroz and Valle del Jerte. At the top of a natural promontory rests the hermitage of the Castle. This place already had beautiful views before the administration itself decided to place two metal walkways that allow (the first) to contemplate the village from above, and (the second) lose the look on the horizon reaching a multitude of towns and lakes.

How to get there?

The ideal is to arrive by car to Cabezabellosa. If you arrive from the Ambroz, you must take a crossroads (indicated) that is at the beginning of the village. If you are coming from Valle del Jerte, you will have to cross the village by the road around it, until you reach the same crossroads. Take the track for about 2-4 minutes until you reach a parking area, you will be at the foot of the viewpoint. From there it is perfectly indicated.

Difficulty to go with older children

From the base there is a steep slope to reach the hermitage and then the viewpoint, but walking slowly should not take more than 10-15 minutes. The climb is tiring, no doubt, but as the views accompany, going slowly, it will be enjoyable and anyone can reach the top without problem (unless we have a severe mobility problem).
