The Templar fortress of Jerez de los Caballeros has Templar origins, as its name indicates, around the 13th century. Although the construction was built on an Arab citadel of which some architectural elements are preserved.
 
The imposing figure traces, seen from afar, an unmistakable skyline in which the fortified enclosure commands with 18 of its 26 original towers with quadrangular and semicircular shape. The consolidation of the wall and its towers offers us a current vision of great beauty and spectacularity .
 
At present, the gates of La Villa and Burgos are preserved, although there were originally four more. Contemplating Jerez on a spring or summer night is an experience not to be missed. The walk through its silent, well-lit streets, its monumental ensemble...

How to get there? The Alcazaba is located at the highest point of the town, in the square of the same name.
