This castle, presides over the sky and the landscape of its population, Burguillos del Cerro. Like all castles, it offers an immense view of the landscape. In addition, we can play with the kestrels that approach the battlements of the fortress while we let the pure and clean air of the south kindly hit our face.
Before going up to the castle, a visit to the Interpretation Center of the Extremaduran Popular Architecture is a must. In this ancient temple we will also find, as a crypt, a set of curious Arab and Templar tombs.
The castle is of Islamic origin, like many, from the tenth century, with successive reconstructions. It is fully visitable and highlights its towers, the keep and the Torre Parda, among all the others, six in total.
