Castle and extraordinary viewpoint of the region.

The castle is free access and can be visited by any traveler. You will find it at the top of the hill that crowns the town of Montánchez (it is an ancient Muslim castle). The interest is twofold, on the one hand it is an authentic fortress with a good part of the structure perfectly visible (it has a nice presence and is undoubtedly very attractive for a visit). On the other hand, the views are really exceptional (many kilometers on the horizon) and in addition, at the top has a wide esplanade where you can walk around the fortress and taking pictures incessantly.

Is access complicated?

No, it is really simple. Once we have arrived in Montánchez, we park the vehicle and look for the main square. From there the way is simple. We will walk (300-400 meters in total) along a stone path that is a bit steep. We will pass by the church and the cemetery of Montánchez (a curiosity to visit if we decide to enter). We can go for a leisurely stroll and enjoy the views so as not to get tired during the climb(10-15 minutes). We can go with the children, with our pet or with our elders. It will be worth the small climb.
