An open-air auditorium

In the heart of the Cáceres region of La Vera, is Valverde de la Vera, an ancient manor that played an important role during the reconquest and subsequent repopulation of the territory. The castle dates from the thirteenth century and its origin is linked to a fortification of the Order of the Temple, which, in turn, built on an Islamic Rapid. It is very close to the Church of Nuestra Señora de Fuentes Claras , whose visit is also recommended as it integrates part of the fortification and combines religious and military elements.

Of the castle only a tower and part of its walls remain. The environment is currently converted into an open-air auditorium for the celebration of events and the garden that connects it with the parish is a quiet place with dense vegetation in which time seems to stand still.
