A few meters from the Monastery of Yuste, where Charles I of Spain and V of Germany ended his days, there is this curious place.
Nobody expects to find a cemetery in the middle of the mountain, but it is an extraordinarily beautiful place that exudes peace. It is not a Nazi cemetery. It is not even a World War II cemetery. It is a military cemetery of German soldiers. Not all those buried in this place fought under Hitler, but they did so during the First World War.
In the place a plaque explains that under its gray granite crosses, all the same, rest 26 soldiers of World War I and 154 of World War II.

Where is it located? Access is via the EX-391 road from Cuacos de Yuste, just 1.3 km in the direction of the Monastery of Yuste.
