One of the most complete swimming pools in the north of Extremadura.
La Pesquerona is undoubtedly one of the largest and most complete natural pools in the north of Extremadura. As is logical, it also has a large number of bathers. It is located on the river Jerte, just 500 meters above Cabezuela and has lawn with shaded area, sandy area (almost say beach), parking area, a bar with terrace and a restaurant with chillout for a drink. In general, it is a very flat area with very good access.
A double pool in every sense
La Pesquerona is composed of two pools, one located before and one after the curve that makes the river at that point. On the right bank is the sandy area (beach area), where the restaurant overlooking the river (ideal for lunch). In its left margin the zone of grass with chiringuito to throw the towel.
Location and access
If we travel through the valley from south to north, we will pass through Cabezuela halfway. Well, just after leaving this town and crossing the bridge, we will begin to see the bathing area "La Pesquerona". In just 500 meters we can turn off towards the hermitage and park (there is plenty of parking, but it is also very busy). Do not be the last ones.
