Walnut grove route
An obligatory route for anyone who visits the Jerte. And if you go when it has just rained you will witness a wonderful spectacle.

The route of the Waterfalls in the Jerte Valley
It is a circular route of approximately 5.5 km and lasts 2-2 hours and a half. It is a little longer because it is common to stop to take pictures during its 4 waterfalls. We can make it a little longer if we go up to a last waterfall, the fifth, (it is worth it if you go with enough time). We will find this last one if we reach an asphalted track and continue up the path (it is perfectly indicated).
Does it become hard?
It is surprising how quickly you get to see the first waterfall. From there it is a rough climb but accessible for children and adults with a little bit of fitness (impossible for people with low mobility or in wheelchairs). This climb is tiring but ends in 1.5 km, after having crossed the first four waterfalls, at the end of this climb (when you reach a road), you have two options, either continue a little further up a path that is indicated, again, next to the gorge (this path will lead you to a last waterfall crossed by a small bridge, also very nice), or start the way back by starting the ascent.This descent is very restful (on a cement track) and, unlike the intricate forest we have just crossed, offers magnificent views of the Jerte Valley. A completely clear path.
Comfortable clothes and not too warm
During the ascent, even if the day is cool, you will sweat for sure. But when you reach the highest point and start the descent, you'd better put your jacket (or coat) back on because it becomes very restful and the heat you have accumulated during the climb can make you catch a cold.
