A path through the rugged nature that, halfway, surprises us with a wonderful waterfall.

Ovejuela is a small village (almost hidden) located in the municipality of Pinofranqueado (one of the reference mucipios of the Hurdes). To get there we must take a detour located shortly after leaving Pinofranquedo. After 5 km of winding roads we will arrive to this corner of the Hurdes to take a pleasant walk (it is a very comfortable and simple route) to see this wonder of nature, the chorrituelo of Ovejuela, which in times of rain surprises us by its flow and its beautiful fall of more than 50m.
It is a short route of just over 3 km (adding the round trip). The route is short and comfortable and runs along the river Ovejuela, crossing it at several points. This route is perfectly indicated and prepared so that anyone can walk it and for the passage of the rivers small wooden bridges have been built that make it a walk. If you go in summer, you will find a smaller waterfall but you can also enjoy a swim right at the base of the waterfall.
We really have a double route. Since at the exit of the village, just after passing the bridge located next to the natural pool, there is a fork that allows you to reach the waterfall by the highest part of the mountain (in the original route we will arrive through the riverbed). This last route runs through pine forests and can be joined with the first by making a circular route. The problem is that the junction of the two routes is not properly enabled and can be dangerous (uphill or downhill, depending on which direction we go). The distance is similar but the elevation gain is 80m higher on the latter. My advice is to do the first one (take the right fork, the one that runs along the riverbed).
Route: Round trip
Start and finish: Ovejuela (Pinofranqueado)
Distance: 3 km.
Estimated time: 1,30h
Difficulty: low
Difficulty: 150 meters
The village of Ovejuela has little parking so it is advisable to leave the colle as soon as you enter. You will find yourself in a small square that has already indicated the route up a street on the corner. Pass the village and take the road to the natural pool. Crossing the bridge we will follow the detour that takes us along the Ovejuela riverbed. Straight ahead, one kilometer further a small wooden viewpoint and we reach the waterfall at the end. You will have reason to enjoy the view and take some pictures. The return, if possible, even more restful.
